Children in city primary schools could soon be saying carpe diem once again as Latin will be revived in the classroom.
The Nottingham Latin Network for teachers has been launched by Nottingham Trent University and the city council to bring back the ancient language into mainstream education.
The network will support city schools in introducing Latin across the curriculum in subjects such as primary languages, history, and English. Year six teacher Adrian Pulk from Robert Shaw Primary School, in Beechdale, said: “I think it is a great idea to challenge children in different ways.
