One of the remarkable things that the poet expressed in this text – stressing it as noteworthy, it would seem – was that she never had to endure any physical abuse (lines 5-6):
non gravibus vinc(u)lis unquam consueta teneri
verbera nec niveo corpore saeva patiunaccustomed ever to be restrained by heavy harnesses or to endure savage beatings with my snow-white body
